Power Patient Lifts
Power Patient Lifts use an electric motor to move a lifting arm up or down as the user needs. The lifting arm will continue to move as long as the switch is engaged or until the lifting arm reaches its highest or lowest position. Power Lifts require no muscle effort to raise the patient, making them a favorite among patients and caregivers.
Some of these lifts have a battery backup so they can still be used even when the power is out. A sling will be needed with any lift purchase. The sling is what the lift arm uses to raise or lower the user.
Southwest Medical has power patient lifts from Drive Medical, Hoyer, Invacare, and Molift.
